Fall Favorites!

Y’all are probably thinking, “great, another ‘white girl I LOVE FALL blog.’” But before you check out, I encourage you to read just a little longer.

Let me start off by getting some things of my chest…. I’m aware that there’s a lot of controversy over people who blog for the wrong reasons (i.e. fame, Instagram likes/followers, people thinking they’re better than everyone else, etc.). Trust me when I share with you that my motivation for blogging is to share my heart as I seek after the things of God, to have an avenue that can connect me with each of you & to share what God is doing not only in my life but also in the life of my family.

Believe me, my life is NOT glamorous! I may write about the awesome things going on but you’ll also find me sharing about the ups & downs in life as well. The bottom line is, I’m a real human being with real struggles. I desire to be completely transparent with the hope that in some way you may be able to relate to or feel somewhat encouraged through my posts! I’m not here seeking attention or to “grow my followers.” There is so much more in life than Instagram followers/likes & I wish people understood that more. Honestly, it took me a little bit to grasp that concept. Then the Lord took hold of my heart & now I frankly could care less. Your worth is in Christ not in Instagram. (Rant over!)

(Now onto today’s blog post) It’s now October & this girl cannot be more excited for fall & all that’s to come. October is by far my favorite month because it’s when everything I love starts to happen! Here are some of my favorite things about fall:

My Birthday!! Let me just knock that one out first. My birthday is on the 25th of this month & I turn 22 (sings Taylor Swift). This year we have the added bonus that we find out the gender of Baby Holbrook the day before!

Candles!!! Y’all I am a sucker for candles but especially fall scented candles. I recently went to Target & was in the candle aisle for 30 minutes. No lie! I have smelled a lot of candles recently & I must say that “Leaves” from Bath & Body Works is the best fall scent ever. That candle stays lit as much as possible & it seriously has the power to change my mood. I can sit in silence wrapped up in a blanket by myself & be completely content just having the candle burning in front of me (that scenario has happened multiple times). So, go get that candle!!!

Coffee! We all knew this one was coming. I am not a big fan of regular coffee-I like it, but it’s not a love (unless it’s a french vanilla coffee from Ihop). My “go to” drink is a Mocha latte- either iced or hot but it truly depends on my mood or the weather. So, lately I’ve opted for hot! There is nothing like sitting in front of a fire with a warm blanket sipping a hot mocha. That to me says “fall.”

Bonfires! Since having moved to Texas, I have probably been around one or two bonfires at most & honestly it’s kinda lame. It’s another reason I miss Virginia. I cannot count how many times I have been around a bonfire in Virginia. Bonfires in fall weather are just magical! I recently saw a candle that was called “Bonfire”.... absolutely GENIUS! Did I mention I have an obsession with candles? I swear I should work for Yankee Candle or something.

Comfy Clothes! I think this might be one of my favs on my favorites list (haha). I could pretty much wear a hoodie every day. In fact, when I went to Liberty University I wore one just about everyday. I’m not kidding & I’m not ashamed to admit it. Hoodies are like wearing a hug. In high school I used to collect hoodies. It was a minor obsession & now I have way too many. I still have the tendency to buy them though & it’s kind of a bad habit. Hoodies aren’t the only things I love about fall clothes. Add in booties, baggy clothes, & endless reasons for wearing all sorts of jackets & you’ve got why I love fall clothing.

A few fall favorites! Comment at the bottom if you want to know where any of these items are from!

Decorations!! This is a new one for me especially because I’m not a fan of fall decorations. This is mostly because I absolutely hate the color orange & most fall decorations have orange. Target has changed my view on  fall decor! Y’all Target is dangerous & their fall decor is beyond cute. I recently got this cute little red and gold flower pumpkin & it’s all I need right now to bring a visual touch of fall into our small apartment.

I think I could go on & on with more reasons why I love fall but I’ll stop here. Fall is just the best. It’s the time of the year where we all crunch leaves on the sidewalk & get so happy about it. I’m still on the fence as to whether fall is better in Texas or Virginia. They both have their pros & cons but I’m leaning more towards Virginia on this one (minus the fact that it gets absolutely freezing towards the end).

With this blog being all about fall, I wanted to share one of my favorite fall sessions that features the Fries family! Now let me get back to my comfy hoodie, warm cup of mocha and my favorite fall candle...Enjoy!

Dates are open to book your fall sessions!
