So yall. Last night I got back into Houston from a short but super fun trip back to my hometown of Virginia. While I was in Virginia, my sweet, sweet husband took the time to make me the sweetest welcome home surprise. (Stay tuned). I went back for Amber's (my sister) graduation. She just graduated with her Masters in education and the day before she graduated she got offered a school counseling job, how amazing is our God!? My sister beat the statistics and got that job right after working beyond hard for her Masters. PTL!
It also just happened to be Mother's Day while I was there so that was pretty cool to spend that time and entire day with my beautiful mom. She is one of my best friends, and I loved being there to celebrate her.
I'm actually leaving again a week from tomorrow to head back to be good ole VA for a wedding of one of the sweetest couples I know and for a guy I've known since we were wittle babies and playing b-ball in the backyard and getting punched in the face... Say what? Sorry Jeffrey had to bring that up. (He punched me in the nose as kids and made my nose bleed when I beat him in basketball when we were super little, and I will never let him live that down).
I feel like I travel all the time and that I should have all the frequent flyer miles or something, or whatever people get when they fly constantly... In all honesty I should be getting some free flights in general for the amount of traveling I do. Come on southwest help a girl out?
While I was gone my amazing, incredible, thoughtful, sweet, sweeeet husband knew that my desk I have to work on is really small and by small I mean... really small. I usually make my way to the couch and that always turns into my work spot. So he built me a desk!! He's the best y'all. I'm so excited to work at my new desk in my office/dogs room/guest bedroom. Below are some pictures of an unfinished room that lacks a lot and missing some vital necessities but when your newlyweds you work with what you have and you cram all you can into your spare room, or maybe that's just me. I don't know. Also, side note, shout out to Caleb Thurman for helping Evan out on this project, we are so thankful for you. Thanks for being so awesome and such a selfless friend!
I'm a dreamer y'all so I don't look at the circumstances right now and think this room is so crammed because well it is, or think I'm missing a night stand and etc etc. I'm literally dreaming of what it will look like one day when the Lord blesses us with a house. I'm thankful for our little starter apartment, and I look forward to the day when we have more space!
Work with what ya got and don't consume yourself with what you don't have. Consume yourself with Him and he will bless you with the things you desire the most.
Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. // Psalm 37:4
